Vegetable chop 


Ingredients :

  1. Beet roots - 2 medium 
  2. Carrot - 2 medium 
  3. Potato  - 2 small 
  4. Cumin seeds - 1/2 tbsp 
  5. Peanuts - 1 hand full 
  6. Coriander seeds - 1/2 tbsp 
  7. Fennel seeds - 1/2 tbsp 
  8. Garam masala powder -1/2 tbsp 
  9. Red chill powder - 1/2 tbsp 
  10. Ginger paste - 1/2 tbsp 
  11. Salt - as per taste 
  12. Suger - as per taste 
  13. Chickpea flour or Besan - 1 cup
  14. White Oil - 200 hmm
  15. Breadcrumb - 200 hmm
  16. Black salt - little bit for seasoning 


Steps :

  1. Make the beet roots, carrots and potato skinless. Now boil it in a pressure cooker until 3 whistles.
  2. Keep it aside. Let it cool and after that drain the water and mash it with using your hand (don't mash it totally smooth).
  3. Dry roast all Cumin seeds + Coriander seeds Fennel seeds. Cool them and make a fine powder.
  4. With the mashed vegetables add this roast masala powder (in # 3) + Garam masala powder +salt + sugar. Mix it well.
  5. In a pan add 2-3 tbsp white oil. After heating put the Peanuts and fry it until brown then add the mashed vegetables and stir. Add ginger paste and cook it till the excess water dries up and all vegetables come together. Let it cool.
  6. In a bowl mix the Chickpea flour or Besan + 1/2 cup water.
  7. Now make a shape whatever you want with that cooked vegetables and dip it in Besan mix and roll it in breadcrumbs. Keep it in a dry dish. Refrigerate it for few hours.
  8. Heat oil and fry it till golden brown.
  9. Now sprinkle some black salt and serve it with sliced onion and tomato sauce / kasundi.
