Kala Jamun/Kalo Jam
Ingredients :
1) Instant Jamun Mix - 2 cup
2) Milk as needed to make dough
3)Black Cardamom seeds half a tea spoon
3)Black Cardamom seeds half a tea spoon
4)raisins 1tbsp
4) Melon seeds half tbsp
For Syrup:
1) Suger 2 cup
2) Water 2 cup
3) Kewra/Rose water few drops
Steps:
1) Take jamun mix in a bowl and mix well so there is no lumps.Now add milk and make into a soft dough.
2) Now divide both the dough into equal portions.Take the white portion dough and press it slightly. Place few black cardamom seeds and 2 raisins in the center and cover it up.Shape it into smooth round ball.
3) Heat oil for frying on a medium heat. Fry the jamun till they are golden. Drain and set aside. After 5 mins fry it again till it get black.
4) Now make the sugar syrup. Place sugar and water in a sauce pan. Mix it and bring it to boil. Simmer till it turns sticky.Add few drops of kewra water/rose water.
5) Now drop the jamuns in the syrup and reheat the syrup often to keep the syrup warm so the jamun will absorb the syrup a lot faster.Let it steep in the syrup for 1-2 hours.
6) Then it will be ready to serve ,put some melon seeds top on each jamun and serve.
