Dahi Vada 

Ingredients:


  1. Urad daal/Biuli daal - 1cup
  2. Green chili - 2
  3. Ginger - 1/2 inch 
  4. Water - 3 tbsp
  5. Baking powder (optional) - a pinch of 
  6. Roasted cumin/jeera  powder- 1/2 tsp
  7. Roasted coriander powder- 1/2 tsp
  8. Roasted chili powder - 1/2 tsp
  9. Sugar - 1 tsp
  10. Black Salt - as per taste
  11. Plain Salt - 1/2 tsp
  12. Tamarind (imli) chutney - 2 tbsp
  13. Sev - 2 tbsp
  14. Fried boondi - 1/2 tbsp
  15. Chopped coriander/dhania patta - 1 tbsp
  16. Curd - 2.25 cups


Steps


  1. Soak urad/buili daal for 4-5 hrs.
  2. Drain the water and grind urad daal + ginger + green chili and make a paste.
  3. Pour the mixture in a big bowl. Add salt + baking powder and keep aside.
  4. Heat oil,dip your hands in water take some mixture, make into a ball do not press very much just make a hole and put it in hot oil,fry them in medium hot oil till golden and crisp.
  5. Now soak all vada’s in cool water for 2-3 hrs.
  6. In a another bowl mix curd + roasted cumin powder + roasted coriander powder + wasted chili powder + sugar + black salt + tamarind(imli) chutney nicely with 1/2 cup of water.
  7. In a plate take 2 vada’s add 1/2 cup of curd mixture sprinkle some chopped coriander leaves + sev + fried bondi + 1 tsp of tamarind chutney and serve it.
