Dahi Vada
Ingredients:
- Urad daal/Biuli daal - 1cup
- Green chili - 2
- Ginger - 1/2 inch
- Water - 3 tbsp
- Baking powder (optional) - a pinch of
- Roasted cumin/jeera powder- 1/2 tsp
- Roasted coriander powder- 1/2 tsp
- Roasted chili powder - 1/2 tsp
- Sugar - 1 tsp
- Black Salt - as per taste
- Plain Salt - 1/2 tsp
- Tamarind (imli) chutney - 2 tbsp
- Sev - 2 tbsp
- Fried boondi - 1/2 tbsp
- Chopped coriander/dhania patta - 1 tbsp
- Curd - 2.25 cups
Steps:
- Soak urad/buili daal for 4-5 hrs.
- Drain the water and grind urad daal + ginger + green chili and make a paste.
- Pour the mixture in a big bowl. Add salt + baking powder and keep aside.
- Heat oil,dip your hands in water take some mixture, make into a ball do not press very much just make a hole and put it in hot oil,fry them in medium hot oil till golden and crisp.
- Now soak all vada’s in cool water for 2-3 hrs.
- In a another bowl mix curd + roasted cumin powder + roasted coriander powder + wasted chili powder + sugar + black salt + tamarind(imli) chutney nicely with 1/2 cup of water.
- In a plate take 2 vada’s add 1/2 cup of curd mixture sprinkle some chopped coriander leaves + sev + fried bondi + 1 tsp of tamarind chutney and serve it.
