Konkani Chicken curry
Ingredients:
- Chicken pieces - 500 gm
- chopped onion - 1
- ginger garlic paste - 1.5 tsp
- Chopped green chilis - 4-5
- Chopped coriander leaves - 2 tbsp
- Tomato paste - 1 small
- Dried coconut powder - 1tbsp
- Curry leaves - 5-6
- Whole cinnamon stick - 1 medium
- Garam masala powder - 1tsp
- Cumin powder - 1tsp
- Coriander powder - 1tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1tsp
- Kashmiri Red chili powder - 1 tsp
- Salt
- Cooking oil
Steps:
- Wash the chicken and keep aside.
- In a pan/kadahi put 3-4 tbsp oil. After heating oil add whole cinnamon sticks. When it smelling add curry leaves. After few seconds add chopped onions and make it golden brown.
- Now add ginger garlic paste + chopped green chilies and stir it for few minutes.
- Add turmeric powder + coriander powder + kashmiri red chili powder + lil bit garam masala powder and mix it nicely foe few seconds. Then pour the washed chicken in it stir and put the lid. Cook it in low flame for 10-12 minutes.After 10 minutes add little water and tomato paste. Cook it another 10 minutes with lid.
- In a another side dry roast the coconut powder until brown.
- Now open the lid add salt + 1/2 tsp garam masala powder and the roasted coconut powder. stir it until the gravy is thick. Off the flame add chopped green coriander leaves and pour it in a serving bowl.
- It’s ready, you can serve it with rice or roti/ paratha.
