Kakrar Jhal


Ingredients:

  1. Kakra/Crab - 500 gm
  2. Onion paste - 1 medium
  3. Ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp
  4. Chopped tomato - 1 small
  5. Cumin powder - 1 tsp
  6. Turmeric powder - 1tsp
  7. Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
  8. Garam masala powder - 1tsp
  9. Salt - as per taste
  10. Sugar - 1/2 tsp
  11. Ghee - 1tbsp
  12. Bay leaf - 1 small 
  13. Mustard oil for cooking


Steps: 


  1. Clean and wash the kakra/crab add turmeric powder + salt and keep aside.
  2. In a pan/kadahi add 3-4 tbsp mustard oil. When it will heat put the bay leaf wait for 2-3 seconds. Now add the onion paste + pinch of salt and make it until brown.Now add ginger garlic paste and stir it for few more seconds. when the raw smell goes away  add chopped tomato and stir it until smashed. After that add turmeric powder + cumin powder + red chili powder and mix it well.
  3. Now put the kakra/crab in it and stir. Cook it for 10-15 minutes with lid in medium low flame. 
  4. After 10-15 minutes add garam masala powder + salt + sugar + ghee + 1.5 cups of water and cook it for another 5-7 minutes.
  5. Now it’s ready to serve. Serve it with steamed rice.
