Chicken Chaap
Ingredients:
1) Cinnamon (1 small stick)
2) Star Anise (1 small)
3) Cardamom (3 pieces)
5) Clove (4 pieces)
6) Saffron (pinch of)
7) Chicken Leg Quarter (2 pieces)
8) Sliced Onion (1 big)
9) Hung curd (2 table spoon)
10) Coriander powder (1 tbsp)
11) Kashmiri Chili powder (2 tbsp)
12) Ginger garlic Paste (1tbsp)
13) Poppy seeds (1tbsp)
14) cashew (4 Pieces)
15) Kewra (few drops)
16) Salt (as per taste)
17) Sugar
18)gram Flour/Chattu (1 tbsp)
19)Oil + Ghee (3+2 tbsp)
Steps:
1)Take cinnamon,star anise,cardamom,clove and saffron,dry roast them and grind it well.
2)In a pan put put some white oil after few minutes add sliced onion and fry until it get golden brown.Let it cool down then grind it and make a paste.
3)Soak poppy seeds and cashew in half cup of water and make a paste.
4)Wash the chicken pieces and dry it with paper towel.In a big bowl add hung curd+coriander powder+kashmiri chill powder+gonger garlic paste+Poppy seeds+cashew paste+salt+sugar+gram +gram flour/chattu +onion paste mix it well add the chicken pieces.Let it for 1-2 hours in refrigarator.
5)In a pan add oil+ghee,heat it,then add chicken pieces from the marinade. Make it brown,after that add the rest to marinade and cook it until the chicken gets soft n tender.
6)Add the roasted garam masala powder and few drops of kewra,mix it well.Chicken cheap is ready to serve.
*Serve it with Biriyani,Rumali roti,Naan or Tandoori rotis.
